Corrections

Every factual error found on this site after it was published, newest first: what was wrong, what is right, and the official source we checked.

  1. What was wrong

Our integrations page, the product overview in every language, the page on immigration software for HR and one answer said an accepted offer in a connected system starts a draft case.

    What is right

A new hire does: a candidate marked hired in Greenhouse or moved to Hired in Teamtailor, a new employee in Personio or HiBob, or a hire date set in BambooHR arrives as a draft case for HR to check and start.

  2. What was wrong

The Poland pages, the Europe overview and our description for AI assistants called Poland's main route for a non-EU worker the "work permit type A" (zezwolenie na pracę typu A).

    What is right

Since 1 June 2025 the Act of 20 March 2025 on entrusting work to foreigners governs Polish work permits, and it names no permit types A to E. The route is the work permit for a foreigner working for a Polish employer, which the voivode decides (art. 26).

  3. What was wrong

Five articles, including the guide on kompetensutvisning, said Migrationsverket has not had to revoke or refuse a work permit in minor cases only since 1 June 2026.

    What is right

The Aliens Act has said since 1 June 2022 that a permit need not be revoked in a minor case, or where revocation would not be reasonable (7 kap. 7 e §). The June 2026 bill did not change that rule; it describes small or short salary shortfalls as examples of minor cases.

  4. What was wrong

Two comparisons of Sweden with Germany and the Netherlands said a Swedish EU Blue Card holder can get permanent residence after four years.

    What is right

A Swedish EU Blue Card holder can get permanent residence after 36 months (three years) with a Swedish EU Blue Card; time in other EU countries does not count.

  5. What was wrong

An article on hiring nurses and doctors listed pharmacists among the health professionals who need only 75% of the median salary while they become licensed in Sweden.

    What is right

The lower level covers doctors, dentists and nurses with a foreign degree who are becoming licensed in Sweden. Pharmacists are not in that group.

  6. What was wrong

Three relocation guides said ETIAS would start in the last quarter of 2026, applied the 1177 rule for stays under twelve months to non-EU permit holders, and said child allowance is paid automatically to newcomers.

    What is right

The EU now says it will announce ETIAS's start date several months before launch. 1177's twelve-month wording belongs to the section for EU/EEA citizens; a non-EU permit holder who isn't yet registered pays the full cost of care. Families living in Sweden get child allowance automatically, but after a move from abroad they must report the move to Försäkringskassan first.

  7. What was wrong

A guide to Ireland's Critical Skills Employment Permit gave the wrong grounds for revoking a permit, and an article on Irish employer obligations said Workplace Relations Commission inspections are often unannounced and that the WRC verifies permit applications.

    What is right

A permit can be revoked on the grounds set out in section 40 of the Employment Permits Act 2024. Full WRC inspections are usually announced in advance, some are unannounced, and the WRC also carries out employment permit verification checks referred to it by the Department of Enterprise.

  8. What was wrong

A guide to moving to Sweden from Brazil said the new Sweden–Brazil tax treaty had applied since 1 July 2025.

    What is right

The Swedish law giving the treaty effect came into force on 1 July 2025, and most of its rules apply from 1 January 2026.

  9. What was wrong

A Swedish article on the ID card and BankID said people can apply for Skatteverket's ID card as usual until February 2027.

    What is right

From 1 December 2026 Skatteverket asks everyone to apply for an ID card at the Police, and eight service centres stop taking applications. Under the bill for 1 March 2027, cases Skatteverket has already started are finished under the old rules and issued cards stay valid until they expire.

  10. What was wrong

An article on changing jobs on a work permit said an employer that checked the right to work, kept a copy of the documents and notified the authority does not pay the special fee for employing someone without a permit.

    What is right

That exemption only covers a person who had no right to stay in Sweden. An employer that employed someone who could stay but lacked the required work permit pays the special fee whatever checks it made.

  11. What was wrong

A comparison of hiring in Sweden, Germany and the Netherlands said the Dutch salary criteria for highly skilled migrants applied from 1 July 2026.

    What is right

The IND changes these criteria every 1 January; the 2026 amounts apply for the whole of 2026.

  12. What was wrong

An article on working while a permit extension is processed said Settio sends a deadline alert four months before every permit expires.

    What is right

Settio's permit-expiry reminders go out 90 and 30 days before expiry by default. The sentence was removed.

  13. What was wrong

Three articles on Irish employment permits said the Critical Skills Employment Permit needs at least €68,911 for other eligible occupations, that the €40,904 level was usually with a relevant degree, and that the permit is issued for 2 years; two also gave a 34% breach rate for the Workplace Relations Commission's 2025 inspections.

    What is right

Other eligible occupations need more than €68,911, and the €40,904 level requires a relevant degree or higher (from 1 March 2026). The permit is issued for a job offer of at least 2 years. In 2025 the WRC closed 5,145 inspection cases and found contraventions of employment law in 1,775 of them; its report gives no percentage.

  14. What was wrong

The Sweden hub, its questions, the Permit Salary Check, the page on starting an immigration agency, llms.txt and four articles said the work-permit minimum of 34,470 SEK a month and the EU Blue Card level of 53,625 SEK applied from 1 June 2026.

    What is right

The 34,470 SEK minimum (90% of the median salary of 38,300 SEK) applies to applications from 16 June 2026; for applications from 1 to 15 June 2026 it was 33,390 SEK (90% of 37,100 SEK). The EU Blue Card level of 53,625 SEK applies from 15 July 2026.
